NJ Diamond Gloves open class brackets released

 

Wondering when and whom your friend or family member (or yourself) is fighting in this year’s New Jersey Diamond Gloves? NJ Boxing News has you covered.

The brackets for this year’s senior tournament have been released. The tournament, which runs from Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15, will take place at the Recreation Center in North Bergen, which is located at 6300 Meadowview Rd. in North Bergen.

Weigh-ins on Friday run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with first bout set for 8 p.m. For Saturday and Sunday, the scales are open from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., with bouts beginning at 3 p.m. There will be no weight allowances for any bouts.

The only men’s open class weights that had walkover winners were 203 pounds and 203+ pounds, with Malachi Georges and Kevin De La Rosa walking over as state champions. None of the women’s divisions had elite boxers register, while no one signed up for 189-pound open.
