Khalil Coe put on a frightening display of power on Saturday afternoon, dropping the previously unbeaten Juan Gerardo Osuna three times to score a second round stoppage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The time of stoppage was 1:14, though the fight was essentially over much earlier. The 27-year-old Coe (8-0-1, 6 knockouts) of Jersey City dropped Osuna 28 seconds into the round with a crushing right hand to the body. Osuna (20-1, 18 KOs), whose previous bouts were all in Mexico, attempted to continue on, though he was in obvious pain. Osuna went down two more times from much lesser punches before referee Allen Huggins stopped the fight.
The win was Coe’s fourth straight by stoppage, and was his first appearance in Vegas since he turned pro there in 2021.
