Paterson’s Dwyke Flemmings Jr. (6-0, 6 knockouts) showed off his two-fisted power in his first fight outside the northeast, dropping Rufino Lewis twice to score a first round technical knockout on Wednesday at Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Fla. The fight opened up the broadcast of a ProBox TV card.

The junior middleweight Flemmings scored a knockdown with a left hook to the body before dropping him again with a right hand to high on the head to score the stoppage at the 1:39 mark.

Flemmings, 20, says he will fight again in March in Missouri in his first six-round bout, and then again at Prudential Center in Newark in April. As an amateur, Flemmings had approximately 80 bouts beginning at age eight, making it to the finals of the 2018 Junior Olympics in Charleston, West Virginia, and competing in Hungary and Spain.

Flemmings is trained by his father, Dwyke Flemmings Sr., at True Warriors Boxing Club in Paterson, N.J.

Lewis, 30, of Lakeland, Fla. drops to 1-6-1 (1 KO) as a pro, dropping his fourth fight by stoppage.
