Sebastian Mazeneth wins decision over Anthony Belizaca in Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY — Sebastian Mazeneth came out victorious over Anthony Belizaca on Saturday, June 1 in a clash between boxers who have spent time at Park Elite Boxing.
The 21-year-old Mazeneth from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn defeated Belizaca of Elizabeth, N.J. at the Showboat Casino in a matchup between amateurs who compete at 147 pounds. There were no knockdowns or standing eight counts, though Mazeneth stunned Belizaca several times, particularly in the third round. All three judges scored the fight in favor of Mazeneth, who boxes out of Sweatbox Brooklyn, where he trains with Argenis Arce and Ryan Songalia.
On this night, it was Songalia and Aaron Watson working the corner, with amateur standout turned pro prospect Jean Pierre Valencia also helping out.
“I’m very happy with my performance. It was a great experience for my first fight in New Jersey. I knew I needed a statement and dominating win and I’m happy I was able to deliver,” said Mazeneth, who was coming off a second round knockout win over former Danish champion Mads Bejder Christensen last month in Greenland.
“As always thank you to God, my coaches and team, and we are onto to the next challenge!”
That next challenge is set for June 15, when he faces Saidou Jalloh at Stereo Garden in Patchogue, N.Y. in an elimination bout for the Strong Island Boxing Six Borough Championships 147-pound elite title. The winner will become mandatory challenger for the title, and get a title opportunity at the following Strong Island card on September 28.

As if that wasn’t enough boxing for the month of June, Mazeneth is also slated for his first national tournament when he takes part in the Summer Festival in Wichita, Kansas, which takes place from Saturday June 22 through June 29. Mazeneth is seeking donations to help offset the nearly $1,000 in expenses related to his participation in the tournament, which includes hotel, airfare, food and transportation while in Kansas.
Those interested in donating can do so through CashApp ($SebastianMazeneth) or Zelle (917-723-2950).
